Colin Doherty is a director adept at connecting brands with humans through film, photography, and sound. Nature, light, intuition, and decisiveness play an integral role in how he constructs and engages with film. He approaches each project holistically, weaving together every element — sound, color, movement, performance — into a final piece that feels seamless and alive.

For Colin, storytelling is never just visual. He leans into emotion and connection, shaping work that doesn’t simply show an idea but makes you feel it. His practice straddles the line between documentary and branded content, bringing a truthfulness and intimacy to commercial work while elevating documentary storytelling with a cinematic eye. The result is film that is both authentic and artful, designed to hold attention and spark lasting resonance.

Before moving full-time into directing, Colin was an established production designer in Los Angeles and has filmed hundreds of commercials and music videos for the world’s biggest brands and artists, including multiple Cannes Lions Grand Prix winners and iconic Super Bowl spots (Old Spice, Honda, Cadillac…). Colin continually worked for acclaimed directors Tom Kuntz, Ellen Kuras, Nicolai Fuglsig, Dante Ariola, Frederic Bond, and Mark Pellington.

This production design experience sets him apart in the creative pre-production process and when leading fellow creatives on set. By uniting craft, intuition, and connection, Colin shapes stories that resonate on every level — visually striking, emotionally true, and impossible to forget.
